Martial Arts History:

Trained with legendary Dr. Richard Kim at the Chinese YMCA in San Francisco from 1972 until 1983, earning the rank of sankyu in shorin ryu. This training was interrupted several times due to other pressing activities and I never gained a black belt ranking, however, Sensei allowed me to attended black belt lectures after group classes on Saturdays. http://zenbei.org/richard_kim/richard_kim.htm

Trained in Shotokan under Masakazu Takahashi in Brooklyn, 1975-76 and at Columbia Teacher’s College in Manhattan sporadically in the mid 1980’s.

In 1991 began consistent training in yang style tai chi under Grandmaster William C.C. Chen in Manhattan. https://www.williamccchen.com/ In October 2008, I received a 5 star Diploma from Grandmaster Chen. It is the highest certificate he awards certifying teaching proficiency in the yang style short and long form, fighting applications of the form, sword form, push hands, boxing, and competition. Over the years,I have competed in regional, national and international events, winning several medals, including some gold in forms, push hands and fighting. I have students mainly in the New York area, but also in San Francisco, Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland. I conductdc annual and semi-annual workshops in Milan, Italy for  12 years. I also completed training in the Cloudy Fan Form with Master Luis Molera, who learned it in Taiwan from Grandmaster Rosa Chen.
